Who We Are

Who Started Makulu Vehicle Storage?

The business was started by Clive Massel in 2011. Clive recognised the need to provide an exclusive vehicle storage facility in Melbourne. Makulu is now regarded as one of Melbourne’s premier vehicle storage facilities. From modest beginnings in 2011, we now store 120 vehicles in three separate brick buildings.

What does Makulu mean?

The word Makulu in Zulu, a language of South Africa means. 

“The Big One” !!

Who is Clive Massel?

Clive Massel was the 1989 South African Historic Touring Car Champion as well as the National Group N endurance champion of the same year. He has won numerous concours events both in Australia and South Africa.

He was awarded with the following awards in the erstwhile municipality of Boksburg, South Africa:

  • 2005 - Small Business of the Year

  • 2006 - Professional of the Year

  • 2007 - Professional of the Year.

  • Past President of the Boksburg Child Welfare

  • Chief Valuer for the South African Roads Agency.

  • Municipal Valuer to a multitude of South African municipalities.

  • Fellow of the South African Institute of Valuers.

  • Founder and Chairman of the Ekurhuleni Valuers Forum.
